Man Commits Suicide After Releasing Exotic Animals into The Public

Warning signs fill the roads about animals on the loose.

Ohio police were force to hunt down and kill 50+ exotic and endangered animals, after some loser purposefully released them from the property he kept them on before killing himself. Terry Thompson, 62, operated the Muskingum County Animal Farm, a 40-acre farm that housed about 50 big-game animals, including Bengal tigers, lions, cheetahs, wolves, giraffes, camels and grizzly bears. Officials have been on the property many times in the past investigating complaints of animals running loose or being abused. “We’ve handled numerous complaints here, we’ve done numerous inspections here. So this has been a huge problem for us for a number of years,” said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz. But the animal farm, and Thompson, won’t be a problem for anyone ever again after Thompson purposely released the animals and then killed himself. The authorities are not sure on why he did this, but he’d just gotten out of prison last month after serving a year on weapons charges and his wife left him. The releasing of the animals may have been a big “Eff You” to all the neighbors who have filed multiple complaints against him and how he treated his animals.

While this act may have shaken up his neighbors a bit, especially the ones who called 911 to report seeing lions and tigers roaming the area, the only ones that ended up suffering where the animals themselves and possibly some of the people who had to put them down. In all, officers shot and killed 49 animals; 18 rare Bengal tigers, 17 lions, six black bears, two grizzly bears, three mountain lions, two wolves and a baboon. A grizzly bear, two monkeys and three leopards were captured safely and taken to the Columbus Zoo.

The officers were forced to do what the had to do. Not being equipped with tranquilizers officers had to use their duty rifles.

This story is kind of old, yes. OLD! The original story was leaked back in October. My fiance actually told me about this story and just hearing about the complete disregard for life was pretty sad. Wanted to share it with you guys.

Can you imagine having to choose to take an innocent animals life? how would this choice affect you?
