We had the pleasure to chop it up with one of the smartest guys to come out of UT at Austin. Last Year, word spread fast that scoremore had the ever popular SXSW on lock. Which is a Music, Film and interactive festival held in Austin Texas. We’ve heard so much about Scoremore putting on these killer shows in Austin, Dallas and back to our hometown Houston, Texas. We made it a point to connect with Scoremore some way form or fashion. Back in September, we covered the J. Cole concert ScoreMore put on down at Houston’s Warehouse Live. Might i add the concert was SOLD OUT! It was a great experience for us to get a better look at how Scoremore puts together these awesome shows.

Toxin met up with Sascha Stone Guttfreund at his latest event. Big Sean’s Finally Famous Tour had touched down in our city & Toxin HAD to be in the building. Before the show Sascha had the press lined up to interview him, Ahead of us was KTSU Radio (Texas Southern University) Much love to those guys, I hear their Vee Jay did an awesome job! We waited patiently to get the opportunity to sit with Sascha. Once inside, Sascha greeted us with a warm and genuine, “Whats up”. That was good to hear for how cold and rainy it was outside the venue that night. Sascha chats with us about why Scoremore holds the title, “Your favorite rappers, favorite promoters.”

Taqkiiyawna: “How did you all get that name, I mean we know but can you tell us!?”

Sascha: “uh, scoremore is your favorite rappers favorite promoter… that actually came from,… ill keep him nameless, but that came from an artist, he came back and was like ‘YO! you realize that like ever rapper that’s like coming up, they love you!”

As we laugh, im thinking thats major! This kid has put on so many artists its ridiculous. Scoremore’s team is large and work ethic is even bigger.

“My Whole Squad, 80% of the people who work with me today have been with me since day one.”

They’ve put on a wide variety of Hip Hop, Funk and Electronic shows. I Asked Sascha, “Can you remember one of the best concerts you’ve experienced in your past?”

Sascha: I remember going to see Atmosphere and How many people were there and the fact that they never had a song on the radio”

Which struck a chord with me, because watching a lot of the artists he has brought out, the crowd quotes all their songs… WORD FOR WORD! Its nuts! We went into talking about other artists and their “Cult Followings” and how Texas has been really supportive to artists who aren’t just “Texas” artists. Sascha is a pretty down to earth guy, having been on side of some of the biggest names he kept it really cool.

Taqkiiyawna: “So can you give us your idea of the best crowd?”

Sascha: “Anybody that comes to our shows, i’m super appreciative…”

Stone has done shows with Method Man, Big K.R.I.T, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean and Countless others, with all this bad publicity you would think some artists are “divas” but Sascha Says, “i can honestly say ive never worked with an artist that i havent enjoyed working with”.
He also manages a few artists along side being one of the biggest promoters to hit the southern region! Concluding our interview, Sascha drops a little wisdom on us, You guys take heed…”Dont do anything unless you love to do it…It took a lot of time before we made a dollar…it didnt make “cents” but it made ‘sense’”.

“Just Take your time and don’t burn bridges…. ”

Wise words my friend.
